Every Student Succeeds Act (2010)
In 2002,No Child Left Behind (NCLB) was signed into law. Overtime, this law proved to be very difficult for schools and educators to follow. On December 10, 2015, NCLB was replaced with the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA). This new law tries to preserve the spirit of No Child Left Behind, while fixing what was widely perceived as its one-size-fits-all approach. The goal of ESSA is to help prepare students for college and career.
